I need to begin seeking answers on what I experience. I am not learned in this area at all and I am looking for input from those that are. I will give my most recent experience that took place last night as a matter of fact.
Last night I woke up because my husband was continually patting me on my right hip - I was sleeping on my left side. He was patting me in a soothing way, almost like I must have had a dream and he was trying to calm me. I had been awake for a few minutes and decided to move to get him to stop - it wasn't him. He was sound asleep on the other side of the bed facing away from me! It freaked me out because when I turned over to the left side again I began feeling it again really strong. I started breathing a little hard because it frightened me. I grabbed my husband's hand and it woke him up. He has learned now that I am usually experiencing something when that happens. I couldn't speak and John kept asking me what was wrong. Then I was looking at the doorway where I sometimes see movement and what I saw was a mist of some sort but up at the ceiling of our room. I was looking at it and it was just floating there. John wasn't seeing it. I kept trying to fall asleep and when I was finally able to close my eyes, I felt a very hard cold drop of water from the ceiling onto my throat. I grabbed my throat and sat up in bed thinking the ceiling was leaking from the rain. There wasn't anything wet on my throat and it wasn't raining.
Now this is just the most recent experience. I have been experiencing things for many years, not always like this. Can anyone give me any insight? Thanks so much.

Dear Mary Jane,
I am not a psychic or even a paranormal investigator. I'm just someone with an interest who has read a lot about this type of thing. What you've described is found in a lot of literature and is normally called a "visitation". If you are religious, you might want to speak to your own religious advisor (priest/pastor/whatever.) for advice on how to handle this from a spiritual point of view.

If you are not religious at all or not particularly spiritual, then you may be interested in talking to an objective outsider, generally, an investigator. Good paranormal investigators are generally skeptical although that doesn't mean they are CYNICAL. It just means that they look for "natural" or "normal" explanations first. When they have exhausted those possibilities, then they will tell you to consider other possibilities. I hope you will write back and let us know how you are.

As a fellow human being, I am concerned for you - you seem (through your writing) to be very scared and I don't blame you. What you have experienced seems very scary indeed.

I've got to ask first, have you experienced any stress in your life lately, trouble at work, problems with your husband, that normal stuff.
