SPOOKY goings-on in a Flintshire town's fancy dress shop's stockroom have led to it being made the focus of a paranormal documentary.

Helen Perry, owner of the Party Shop in Mold High Street, is preparing for her business to be scrutinised by paranormal investigators, who will be filming there on Friday as part of a new programme on the country's most haunted shops.

The programme is due to be aired on the Paranormal Channel in the new year. It is being made by Antix Productions, a company founded by Yvette Fielding, presenter of Living TV's hugely popular Most Haunted series.

Helen said: "It is very well known in the area that this shop is haunted and there have been lots of strange incidents in the past.

"The story behind it is supposedly that there used to be little girl who was locked in the attic in this building, and she jumped out of the window and killed herself.

"We think she is still around and she seems to like it here. It is probably because we are a party shop and she likes playing.

"She seems to especially like playing with the computer – sometimes we will just ring one thing through the till, and about 10 things will come up.

"Some of the staff have had some experiences with our ghost as well – one lady was looking for an outfit in the stockroom and she could not find it anywhere, then it suddenly appeared in her hand."

Nor is the shop a stranger to paranormal investigations – several local paranormal teams have carried out work there in the past.

Helen added: "Some people might say the things that happen here can be explained away, but I don't think so.

"Our ghost is friendly and we like having her around. I wouldn't want anyone to upset her. We are looking forward to the Antix crew's visit and having a chat with them, and to seeing the shop on television after Christmas."

The Party Shop is the second premises in the area to undergo an investigation in as many months. Crowds gathered at the former North Wales Hospital in Denbigh, when the Most Haunted crew filmed there on Halloween night.
