LEWISTON - Was it a camera malfunction, an oversight on the part of the person who took the photo?

A photo was submitted to KLEW News by Edith Samuelsen of Kamiah. She said she took it in Locomotive Park as she visited there with her 4-month old daughter and a friend.

She said they walked up to where the penguins were and stood there and waited for all the other people to move out of the way, then took the picture. When they got home and she showed her parents, they noticed the figure of a somewhat transparent person walking through the middle of the penguins.

Samuelson said she and her friend are positive the area was clear of any other visitors at the time they took the picture.

A professional photographer said the photo was not doctored. His only explanation was that there may have been someone moving across the area when the photo was taken and was not seen or that the camera may have malfunctioned.

So the photo and its ghostly image remain a mystery.
