The death of the television psychic, who appeared on Most Haunted and 6ixth Sense With Colin Fry, was announced by his management via his website today.
It read: "It is with much sadness and regret to announce that the Reverend Colin Fry, Britain’s most loved and respected Spiritualist Medium, lost his fight against cancer and passed away peacefully in hospital in the early hours at 2:50am this morning.
"Colin brought a lot of comfort to his audiences in a career which spanned for more than 30 years. Our sympathies and condolences go out to Colin’s family and friends."
The touching message was signed off: "We, as his management, would like to add that he was the most charming man with the biggest heart, who devoted his life to helping others, and he will be sorely missed."

Fellow medium Derek Acorah was one of the first to pay his respects on Twitter, followed by celebrity psychic Ian Lawman and paranormal investigator Phil Whyman.
He posted: "It is with great sadness that I learned of the passing of my dear friend Colin Fry. Condolences to his family and friends."
Ian tweeted: "RIP Colin Fry. Truly amazing medium. And helped so many people over the years. Dance with the angels now."
Colin's manager also commented: "He had a very big heart. Since the diagnosis, he'd been very upbeat. Because of what he does he had no fear of death. He often told me he had no fear of dying."
Colin recently had to cancel his The 6ixth Sense Anniversary Tour due to his illness
The star had recently undergone radiotherapy, after having to cancel his The 6ixth Sense Anniversary Tour upon being diagnosed in April.
Colin, who was Reverend of The Spiritualist Church, said at the time: "It is bad news for me personally. But it has made me even more determined to carry on.
"It gives me a chance to say goodbye to my fans, who have been so loyal to me over the years."
