For those concerned about this topic, Dr. Apsley was a guest on coasttocoastam radio a few nights ago. He spoke in depth about natural sources of iodine, such as algae and other elements, that boost one's defenses against radiation.
Hi Irina, Unfortunately you won't be able to hear past radio shows on that station without becoming a member ($6.00 per mo). However, I just came home from a nearby health food store and the the Word is to just take kelp; approx 8 capsules a day during this time of risk.
I wouldn't bother if I lived in NY at this point. The highest risk areas at this time are Northern CA where I am, Oregon & WA. I feel more relaxed knowing I'm doing what I can to protect myself.
