I'm a sensitive and have always wondered but never asked or researched it; why do some spirits look 'dead'. Like, they look how they looked when they died... i.e. burned, shot, just... dead & disturbing... etc... and why do some look as they did when they were alive, no discolored skin, not rotting, no wounds even if they were killed and SHOULD have a wound..?
There are many case examples (i.e. Census of Hallucinations, Society for Psychical Research) where there seems to be an intent to convey a mode of death. It is unclear if this is always done, but it certainly is seen in a large number of cases. What is most interesting is that the observer often has no knowledge of how someone died. In one example, several people observed a woman enter a parlor. She backed into the room however, her face hidden by a veil. She seemed not to want to show her face. Based on her build and dress some in the room were able to identify her while others had no idea who she was. All materially agreed what they had seen. It was later discovered that the woman's husband had thrown acid in her face and she had died from this. This is but one example.
That reminds me of the movie the Sixth Sense. Maybe, because the spirit is attached to the earth and this lifetime, they are attached to the way they last looked before they died. The point between life and death must be something very powerful to them. They are still emotionally attached to thier bodies, and they want to hang on to the last memory of their bodies, I would think.
