I guess this site is based in San Diego, so I don't know how many people would know about haunted stuff in Pennsylvania, but I wanted to throw this out there. There is an old abandoned hotel in Duncannon, PA called the Amity Hall Hotel. It was supposedly haunted and seemed to be a popular place for ghost hunters. I went there myself in the spring of 2002 and felt a very strong presence in the west end of the hotel. The best way to describe it is the place felt like it was full of a large group of people. It was physically empty though, it was an abandoned building. Well, I guess you would know what I mean. My friend felt bad vibes and actually had a sensation of pressure on her neck like she was being choked, and pressure on her chest. It was a light pressure however, not enough to physically harm her but the frightening bad vibes were the worst part. My other friend heard something in her ear. Seven years later, in February 2009, me and friends went there again and took some pictures. This time, out of the blue, I felt extremely threatened and frightened on a deep level. My legs were shaking from fear. I never saw or heard anything scary but it was just the intense bad vibes I got. Also I took the creepiest photo there that time; it is a cloud of white mist with vague faces in it. The faces could be my imagination, but they look symmetrical to me. So.....I avoided that place. Then, a few days ago (May 26 2009) the abandoned hotel was set on fire by arsonists. The west end where I got the strongest vibe from was completely destroyed and is nothing but a pile of charred bricks and rubble now. I don't know what will become of the rest of it! The story about the hotel after its closing is a little strange. It went out of business and stood vacant for years and years. The owners boarded up the windows and doors, and even erected a chain link fence with barbed wire around it, and even had an alarm system, but never restored the building and reopened it as anything. I don't know if they were not able to have enough money for that or what. There are a lot of sensational rumors about the place, which I don't want to repeat because I don't know if they are true, but I know that while it stood vacant it was often vandalized and vandalism can attract bad spirits (my friend told me that). Maybe that is what happened. That is my experience with Amity Hall. I was wondering if anyone heard about the place or had any experiences with it. It is on private property, so please don't go and walk around it, and I would think that driving past it on the road would be ok because a road is a public thing, and also I recommend going during the daytime only. So, if anyone has heard about this please share.
