Hi Everyone,

I know many of us are following the events of this murder case. No speculation is needed to know that Ronni Chasen was murdered. To the best of my knowledge we do not yet know the motive.

For those that say that Michael Jackson was just paranoid by telling many people he felt his life was in danger and the now also crazy Quaid's who tell a similar story of people obtaining their assets (their home for one)and also feeling their lives were in danger to the point of leaving the US and asking Canada for asylum, can we NOW take their concerns seriously??? Something is going on and it is not pretty!!

Anyone with information on her murder is urged to call Beverly Hills police at (310) 288-2656.

A man wanted for questioning in connection with the slaying of powerhouse Hollywood publicist Ronni Chasen fatally shot himself Wednesday night (December 1, 2010) as police closed in, authorities said.

Chasen, 64, who represented A-list movie stars and promoted some of Hollywood's top films, was driving home Nov. 16 after attending the premiere party for the movie "Burlesque" when she was gunned down.

Beverly Hills police confronted the man as they were conducting a follow up investigation in the case at the Harvey Apartments on Santa Monica Boulevard in Hollywood, Los Angeles police captain Kevin McClure said at a news conference Wednesday.

"While conducting that follow up, the person they were looking for showed up. They attempted to talk to the suspect. When they did, the suspect produced a hand gun and there was a self inflicted wound at that point," McClure said.

Police said the man killed himself in the lobby and was pronounced dead at the scene.

According to Los Angeles Times, sources told the newspaper that the shooting occurred after 6 p.m. as police were serving a search warrant. The sources said the dead man was a suspect in the case and may have been part of a wider probe of the shooting.

Police sources told ABC News that they plan to do a ballistics test to see if the gun used in the suicide is the gun used to kill Chasen.

Authorities haven't released the man's identity and won't say how the man was connected to Chasen's death.

Residents at the apartment building told the Los Angeles Times that they believed the man was in his 40s and went by the name of "Harold."

Brandon Harrison told the Times that Harold described himself to a neighbor as "an ex-convict who served two stints in state prison, the most recent for firearms and drug convictions" and "vowed he would never go to prison." He told the neighbor that he would be receiving $10,000, either for a job he had done or from a lawsuit.

Beverly Hills Police emphasized that the man "was a person of interest" -- not a suspect and the investigation was not over.

Chasen's Killer: An Expert Marksman?
Earlier, investigators said they had no motive, witnesses or suspects in the powerhouse publicist's killing but an initial coroner's report revealed that the shooter appears to be an expert marksman.

According to the preliminary coroner's report, "there were three apparent gunshot wounds to the right side breast/chest area. There were two apparent gunshot wounds to the right shoulder. There was an apparent gunshot wound to the right upper back and the left upper back."

"One bullet was recovered from her back while at the hospital and is possibly a 9mm hollow point," the report said.

Detectives suspect the gunfire came from a SUV or truck pulling alongside Chasen's Mercedes Benz E530. Chasen was stopped at a red light Sunset Boulevard and Whittier Drive when the shooting occurred.

"After being struck by gunfire...she then made a left turn and drove for approximately a quarter mile before she crashed her car into a pole," the report said.

Detectives say it appears the shooter was an expert marksman.

"Normally they turn the gun sideways and this is something that was done with some skill," said Gill Carillo, who worked as a homicide detective in Los Angeles for more than 20 years. "I carried a gun for 38 years and had to fire it quarterly. I don't think that I could shoot and hit that mass like that."

No shell casings were recovered and only the car's right side passenger seats and windows were damaged.

Was it a 'Targeted' Attack?
Investigators told ABC News that the security cameras that used to monitor traffic at the intersection where Chasen was shot were removed several years ago to save money.

However, Beverly Hills police are seeking for any surveillance video that may provide more clues in solving Chasen's murder.

On Nov. 18, The Hollywood Reporter, cited an unnamed Beverly Hills official who said police believed the attack "was planned in advance and not the result of road rage or a carjacking gone awry."

The Reporter's website also said there was "relevant footage" from at least one security camera near the site of the shooting.

The trade paper reported the video came from the home of Sherry Hackett, widow of the late comedian and actor Buddy Hackett, who lived down the block.

In addition to surveillance video, investigators are combing through computer hard drives seized from Chasen's office and listening to 911 calls.

"On the profile of this woman, you certainly have to look at the potential that somebody wanted to harm her," said former FBI agent Brad Garrett.

Chasen Laid to Rest
Chasen's funeral was held on Nov. 21 in Los Angeles.

Since her death, fellow publicists have set up a fund to help track down Chasen's killer.

Chasen started out as an actress and later moved on to the world of promoting Hollywood movies and actors.

She worked on films that included "The Hurt Locker," "The Social Network" and "Country Strong."

"She was the Elizabeth Taylor public relations," said friend Helaine Ross. "People wanted her because they knew she knew everybody."

ABC News' Ayana Harry, Ned Potter and The Associated Press contributed to this report.

Video from KABC in Los Angeles

HOLLYWOOD, Calif. (KABC) -- A man suspected of being connected to the murder of Hollywood publicist Ronni Chasen fatally shot himself Wednesday evening at a Hollywood hotel where Beverly Hills police were serving a search warrant, according to authorities.

The Los Angeles Police Department confirmed they were investigating at Santa Monica Boulevard and Wilton Place.

At about 6 p.m., the LAPD responded to a call of shots fired on the 5600 block of Santa Monica Boulevard. At the time of the shooting, Beverly Hills Police Department detectives were on scene conducting a follow-up investigation.

The man's identity has not been released. It's unclear how he is connected to the shooting. Beverly Hills police said the man "was a person of interest only."

The man shot himself in the lobby.

"They attempted to talk to the suspect. When they did, the suspect produced a handgun and there was a self-inflicted gunshot wound," said Capt. Kevin McClure of the LAPD. "The suspect was pronounced at the scene."

Neighbors said they heard loud noises.

"On the first floor right below the steps, I saw a big splatter of blood," said neighbor Terri Lyn Gilpin.

Chasen, 64, was found shot dead in her Mercedes-Benz in Beverly Hills on her way home from a movie premiere after-party Nov. 16.

A leaked coroner's report raised more questions, including whether the gunman was a hired killer.

Chasen was a powerhouse publicist in the movie industry and her closest friends say she could work miracles because of her contacts.

"She was the Elizabeth Taylor of public relations," said Chasen's friend Helaine Ross. "People wanted her because they knew that she knew everybody."

ABC News has seen a copy of the initial coroner's report, which is now under a security hold.

The report says one bullet was recovered from her back while at the hospital and is possibly a 9mm hollow-point.

Chasen received three apparent wounds to the right-side breast/chest area and two apparent gunshot wounds to the right shoulder.

Detectives suspect the gunfire came from an SUV or a truck pulling alongside her car.

Detectives say it appears the shooter was an expert marksman.

"Normally they turn that gun sideways and this is something that's done with some skill," said former L.A. County Sheriff's Dept. homicide detective Gil Carrillo. "I'll be honest with you: I've carried a gun for 38 years and had to qualify quarterly. I don't know that I could shoot and hit that mass like that."

Carrillo was a homicide detective for more than 20 years in Los Angeles.

"My gut tells me that somebody contracted someone else to kill the victim," said Carrillo.

The location has been called the "Bermuda Triangle" of Beverly Hills. It's near the area where Howard Hughes survived a plane crash in 1946 and Bugsy Siegel was gunned down on the street.

FOX HILLS, Calif. (KABC) -- Many of Hollywood's elite turned out Sunday for a memorial service to remember slain publicist Ronni Chasen.

She was shot to death last week while coming home from a premiere after-party.

Chasen was laid to rest at Hillside Memorial Park and Mortuary in Fox Hills.

Among the hundreds who came to pay their respects was longtime friend and Oscar-nominated singer-songwriter Carol Connors.

"It's such a tragedy because nobody can believe what really happened, but there were great moments of laughter when people told the most wonderful stories," Connors said.

Connors is best known for co-writing the theme for the movie "Rocky."

She knew Chasen for decades and says she was an authentic person.

"She loved the songwriter and she really made us feel important because songwriters are not always in front of the camera, but she had a sense that they were so important," Connors said.

No one has been arrested in Chasen's death and police remain tight-lipped about their investigation.

It was early Tuesday morning that Chasen was killed in Beverly Hills.

She was leaving an after-party for the premiere of the movie "Burlesque."

Police say they don't have a motive or suspects in the case, and friends are still shocked, saying she had no enemies.

"We know that she had some very tragic moments at the end and she was someone that said I love you to everyone," said actress-producer Merrie Lynn Ross, who was also in attendance Sunday. "Some of the people thought, 'Wow. She only says it to me.'"

Chasen worked for some of Hollywood's biggest stars and on campaigns for more than 100 movies.

On the night she died, Chasen was busy at work trying to build Oscar buzz for the "Burlesque" soundtrack.

"It's not that she would wear you down," said freelance radio reporter Alan Silverman. "She would convince you the right thing to do was to give coverage to a particular client, but she also was very selective on who she represented."

Chasen was buried at a private service attended only by family members.

Anyone with information on her murder is urged to call Beverly Hills police at(310) 288-2656.

I just heard on the news that they are claiming this "person of interest" acted alone as the lone gunman who murdered Ms. Chasen. How stupid do they think we are? Michael Jackson, Peter Lopez, Ronni Chasen. All dead, no one convicted of anything. What or who will be next? Disturbing, the more questions that go unanswered, my feelings of being powerless increase.

Hi pebuck42,

that is their intention.

WE ARE POWERFUL TOO IF WE DO NOT LET THEM IMPRESS US AND LET THEM GET US DOWN.
STAY FOCUSSED ON THE TRUTH AND LOVE - THIS WILL HELP TO KEEP YOUR ENERGY!

And we can do a lot more about it.

Thanks Ute-
It's just so screwed up. I just need to hear someone as the voice of reason. Someone, whom they cannot silence or smear, speak up and tell the truth for once. I know life isn't supposed to be fair, but it would be nice if once in a while the good guys could win.

Hi Patti.

"I just need to hear someone as the voice of reason. Someone, whom they cannot silence or smear, speak up and tell the truth for once."

That 'voice of reason' will NOT be a well known celebrity, actor, entertainer, politician, or public figure. Such individuals are under great scrutiny, public and private pressures, and rely on certain powerful people and organizations for their careers and financial well being. They have far too much to lose if they dare to use their status to speak the truth.

To fight the rule makers and major power players in the world will leave such public figures in the same unfortunate situation as John F. Kennedy, Princess Diana and Michael Jackson.

It's going to be up to each of you - we, ourselves, us - to be the "voice of reason." We, privately and using the power of the Internet and personal face-to-face contact, will be the "someone whom they cannot silence or smear." It is going to be up to each of us to accept personal responsibility to "speak up and tell the truth for once."

Start with the man - or the woman - in the mirror.

And go from there.

Believe me when I tell you that you have your work cut out for you. No one else is going to do this for you.

Warmly,
Carmen

Edited to Add: Consider what's happening to David Icke and the price he has paid, and possibly continues to pay, for his outspoken stance and fight for the truth. Most people would not have the strength of character, the courage or the strength of will to endure what he must be enduring. I don't think he's going to back down. It's that kind of fortitude - and a willingness to suffer the consequences - that would be required of public figures who choose to engage in this battle.

Hi Patti,

I totally understand you. I´ve been through a lot and often my courage for life was about to leave me completely though I had my family, my animals and so many other beautiful things around me that I was not able to see then. I found my path to go during that time.
When I met Michael - sadly after his death like most of us - and I saw where he had to go through all of his life and he never surrendered - this gave me a strong push forward.
His whole body of work is always a comfort to me and a source of energy when I do not only see what is going on around the globe but really feel it. I do not allow anything to scare me anymore.
I worked so hard to get rid of the fears and I want to keep my energy.

There are / had been so many people out there whose example we can follow. We could write down a seemingly endless list of names.

Before I post Michael´s "KEEP THE FAITH" I want to mention here a statement of MAHATMA GHANDI which I came across just some days ago: Quote:

"YOU MUST BE THE CHANGE YOU WISH TO SEE IN THE WORLD."

We can really make it.

AND I AM CONVINCED THAT ALSO RONNIE CHASEN WILL HAVE HER JUSTICE.
WE ALL ARE WORKING ON IT BY OUR STRONG FOCUS AND WISH TO CHANGE THE WORLD.
This is the conclusion I came to by my own experience of life.
I can only speak for myself and will never give up the good and the belief that LOVE will overcome everything!
This does not mean dreaming but can mean hard work.

Hi Everyone,

This looks like yet another cover up. How convenient that all parties are no longer living. The original facts have all been reversed.

There are photos of Ronni Chasen's car. If she was shot 5 times at the stop light why was her car not at the stop light?

I have never tried to shoot a gun from a bike but all guns have a kick back. 5 shots that all hit while peddling a bike? Really?

It is now supposed to be a robbery, but nothing was taken.

And we call the Quaids crazy for heading to Canada in fear for their lives. Better watch out for the gun toting, bike riding, killers in Beverly Hills. WHAT???

Hi Irina,

I am so glad you found this. It would seems that Michael was not the only one. They do not sound crazy to me.

The media said Michael was paranoid even after he was murdered. I'm sorry, it is not paranoid when you tell everyone you trust that you feel you are going to be killed and then you are killed.

Hi Bonnie,

Yes interesting that they mention the situation around Michael's Neverland.

It all sounds eerily similar. There are very obvious and definitive parallels to the events and circumstances which manifested in Michael's life.

Also they are drawing particular attention to Santa Barbara county, where Michael's '05 trial took place; and of course we now realize the level of manipulation of facts which was implemented there and what a sham and scam (I feel both apply) it turned out to be.

I truly hope the Quaids will overcome all of this unfortunate situation and I wish them well.

Thank you, Irina, for the video you posted. I found another one from CNN which shows Randy Quaid issuing a public statement with his attorney at his side. He is very precise in his statements about who, what, why and how regarding certain things that have been done to him. I think this video, which cannot be embedded, very nicely sums up what the Quaids think and feel and WHY they have taken the stance they have taken. A "malignant tumor of star whackers" is not a bad metaphor, actually, in light of the strange deaths that have occurred over the past 5 or so years.

After that "malignant tumor" took Michael Jackson's life (in my personal opinion), the statements made by the Quaids are at least worth considering carefully before judging and mocking. Sometimes, "malignant tumors" achieve their ends by destroying the reputation, public image and credibility of their chosen victims. Financial ruin or despair may not be far behind. . .

hi Carmen

Thank you for the additional article and video links.

There is definitely an angle to the Vanity Fair article. Evi is most certainly no wall flower from the way she is being portrayed in this article and as seen in the above interview.

Whatever the case maybe, watching and hearing Dennis Quaid at the press conference in Canada, I still sense that he is truly truly scared and distraught. This site of this big man standing there holding back tears is alarming to say the least.

And although their story is being downplayed in the Vanity Fair article and all is being portrayed as paranoia induced hysteria, based on all that we know, I am of the belief "where there is smoke there must be fire".

There has to be truth to what they are saying. Perhaps it is somewhat overplayed and that can happen when someone is really scared and does not feel there is anyone left to trust.

It is a terrifying scenario to say the least.

And I have myself been wandering about what really did happen to David Carradine. The "official" version of the circumstances of his death brought back another similar death scenario to me. I recall reports, this was back in the late 90's, about Michael Hutchence, the lead singer from the Australian band INXS, dying in an eerily similar fashion. Just something that has always stuck with me.
