Los Angeles, February 7:Singer Pete Doherty of the British band Babyshambles has claimed his country mansion is haunted by a group of party-loving ghosts, according to several media reports making rounds on the Internet. Pete Doherty claims his house is haunted by hellraising ghosts.

The tale is really beyond belief but the junkie singer claims his mansion in Wiltshire, Southern England, is haunted by the ghosts who throw wild parties in his home every night.

The 29-year-old Babyshambles frontman insists ghosts live in his house and he often heard them roaming the nine-bedroom mansion, which makes it hard for him to sleep at night.

The rocker, who recently denied reports his landlord wants to evict him, has been living in the 250-year-old red brick house. The property belongs to the Earl of Cardigan and Doherty pays £3,250 a month rent for the Sturmy House, where he is living for the last one year.

Doherty said: "My house is definitely haunted. A couple of time you'll be sitting there then all of a sudden you hear a mad party going on in the west wing . It used to be the servants quarters, which is creepy. "I've never ever checked it out, when I hear it I just hide."

He continued: "It's uncomfortable but I think if I don't bother them, they won't bother me. Half the time I'm in my own world anyway."

Dohery also claimed he once found a stranger living in a car in his garage. He said: "A very strange bloke once decided to move into my garage. He stayed in the garage for a bit in one of the cars.”

He added: "I didn't know who he was, I just knew he was there. Eventually I decided to try and confront him and he just ran away and I aint seen him since."

Reports were rampant earlier this week that Doherty’s house owner wants to evict him from the house because of his nasty lifestyle.

"It's high time Mr. Doherty found somewhere else to live. Enough is enough. We have had quite a few problems with him," the Earl of Cardigan was quoted by several British tabloids as saying.

Born on Mar. 12, 1979, Doherty is an English musician/artist/singer and poet who rose to fame in late ‘90s when he formed a band, called The Libertines, along with Carl Barât.

He founded Babyshambles, where he is currently a lead singer and songwriter, towards the end of his time with The Libertines. The group released two studio albums, “Down in Albion” and “Shotter's Nation” in November 2005 and October 2007, respectively.

In 2005, Doherty became interesting fodder for worldwide tabloids because of his romantic involvement with supermodel Kate Moss as well as his well-publicized drug use.
