Have you ever wondered if some of Omaha's historic houses are also home to spirits?
A group of local paranormal investigators are lending both their expertise and equipment and taking the public on a ghost hunt.
"A couple years back there was a bride that made an appointment to visit the wedding coordinator and while she was asked to wait by the conservatory she saw a figure coming down the stairs and ran out of the castle screaming because she knew it wasn't a human coming down the stairs,” said Sherri Moore, the program and tour coordinator for the Joslyn Castle.
Sherri Moore, the program and tour coordinator for the Joslyn Castle says that the bride to be is convinced to this day that she saw the ghost of Sarah and George Joslyn's daughter.
“When she came back to visit the castle she saw a picture of Violet their adoptive daughter in the library and said that's the figure that i saw walking down the stairs,” said Moore.
“Paracon approached us because they just saw the venue and thought this would be a good place and something interesting that they wanted to come and be a part of. So we partnered with them for a third time this year and we get a great response and sold out classes every time we have this event,” said Moore.
Paracon, local team of paranormal investigators once again invites the public to join them Friday night on a paranormal investigation at the castle.
“They actually will show you the equipment that they use and then they encourage the guests to carry around the equipment with them and talk to the ghosts, if there are any and then encourage any activity from them,” said Moore.
Paracon says every investigation at the castle has led to something new. The last paranormal investigative class even produced a photograph with an unexplainable large mass.
Sherri Moore says it's hard to say what may happen tomorrow evening when you enter Sarah and George Joslyn's home.
“Some people have heard music, some people may have even heard talking, but then when you address Sarah and George personally sometimes they'll hush up. So I think they'll have their conversations going on here in the castle when they think they're alone just like they're still living here to this day,” said Moore.
