'As I looked in my rear vision mirror... I saw a figure in my back seat': Driver recounts ghost sighting on the same road where an eerie woman was spotted four months ago
- Driver has spoken about seeing an eerie female figure on the side of a road
- She saw a woman walking along Gladstone-Benaraby Road in Queensland
- The driver claims she saw a figure in her back seat of her rear mirror
- It comes just months after several drivers spotted a similar sighting
- In March, police closed the same road for several hours following reports
- Police confirmed they spotted a woman but she vanished moments later
A driver has recalled an eerie experience after seeing what appeared to be a dark-haired woman, standing on the side of a road, who quickly disappeared when she got closer.
The woman was driving from Tannum Sands to Gladstone-Benaraby Road in Queensland when she saw a female figure with dark hair donning a white top and black pants about 11am on Monday.
'As I got closer she disappeared. I was trying to look for her and heard swishing noises against the back of my seat,' she wrote on Facebook, according to the Sunshine Coast Daily.

'I swerved as it gave me a huge fright, and I apologise to any oncoming traffic, but I pulled over quickly to check and rang a girlfriend in panic as I was not sure what I had just witnessed.
'This scared me a lot and I'm still a bit shaky.'
The story comes on the heels of another ghost sighting just months after police closed the same road for several hours following reports of a mysterious woman wandering around the area.
Police were called to the location on March 21 after a driver claimed they nearly hit a woman with their car while another said they saw her appearing upset and walking erratically along the road.
Several drivers claimed they've seen a woman while driving along Gladstone-Benaraby Road in Queensland
Officers confirmed at the time they also spotted a woman - matching the description by witnesses - but when they turned their vehicle around, she had vanished, according to The Observer.
The dog squad was also called to the road that night in a desperate bid to find the woman but she was never located after an extensive search by police.
Just days later, a former Gladstone resident and her friend revealed they also had a similar encounter in 2003 after seeing a strange woman standing beside the same road about 11.30pm.
Police have been called to the same road previously where officers have confirmed seeing a similar woman
More than a year ago, a young woman claimed she was driving with her mother when they saw a woman stumbling on the same road at about 2am.
'I didn't see her face because she was walking the same way we were driving,' she told The Observer in March this year.
'But she had her knees bent in. It looked painful. The way she was walking I thought she was drunk. We stopped to see if she needed help, but she had already disappeared.'
A Gladstone police spokeswoman has confirmed to Daily Mail Australia they had previously received several reports about the sighting of the woman but did not comment further on the case.
