Just a question from something I read recently. Can spirits develop attachments to living people? Like if you live in an haunted house for a long time and then move away, can the spirits remember you or miss you? And if you die could you meet them somewhere in time and associate with them sort of face to face? Or do you have to have known them in real life? Like John Edwards always says that people have certain spirits around them, sort of checking on them, keeping tabs...is that the same thing as a 'ghost' spirit, who stays ususally in the same place all the time? If a person is always where certain spirits are, and the person is suddenly gone for some reason, do the spirits even notice? Thanks, Katyclementine

I am going to break down your questions and apply it to the spirits at the Whaley House since this message board is about the Whaley House:

Yes they can. Anna Whaley has mentioned to me that she misses June Reading who helped to save the house originally and took care of the house from the late 1950's to her death in 1998. I get a sense that a docent who just left is also missed. We become fond of them as well. They still have their personaliities so they have people that they like and those they don't, just like we do.

This is kind of a tough question. In the case of the Whaley's they are just as present in the house now as they were then. I think they need to be acquainted with you regardless of time frame. Thomas Whaley was present at the hanging of Yankee Jim Robinson so they knew each other in life. Thomas Whaley when alive claimed his house was haunted by Yankee Jim. Now they are aware of each other in their dimension. Yankee Jim was hung on the property before the house was built.

No, he is referring to spirit guides or angels if you prefer that term. They are here to assist us with our lives. John normally speaks to family members who have passed over and conveys those messages back to the person he is reading. These are 2 different things.

Yes, I believe that they do.
We are referring here to spirits that have the ability to interact. This would not be true with latent energy that may be playing a scene over and over.

Thanks for your help. I think I sort of understand it all a little better. On John Edwards I didnt think about how those people must have passed on correctly, and aren't held back or earth bound, or whatever you call it. I feel bad for the Whaleys, I hope whoever they have working there is on their side. But now I wonder, if the Whaleys had children who arent' earth bound spirits, and passed on correctly, can they visit them there? Like can they come and go to the Whaley house? Theres a couple of their kids you dont hear a lot about, since they dont consider them to be ghosts I guess, one of the girls and one of the boys. I also wonder about the little girl who got poisoned, can her mother come and visit her? Or is she stuck there not having anyone to watch over her? I know I ask a lot of questions, sorry, but its so interesting!

A: The more I communicate with spirits the more I feel they are here to teach us about life. They ask for help but they also provide an understanding as well. I really don't think they are stuck. They just have work to do here.

A: I wish that were the case. It seems to be more about selling tickets. I think the last head docent cared about them but she is no longer working there.

A: Everything seems to be based upon a real purpose. If they have a reason to be there I guess they will show up.

A: I have never sensed Corinne Whaley (last Whaley to live in the house.) One of her friends did show up and had her picture taken. You don't hear much about Frank or Anna Amelia either.

A: We do not know for sure who this little girl is. She shows me things sometimes but does not speak. She showed me where Violet was shot for instance. She will hold your hand sometimes. She does not seem lonely but I do not know why she is there.
