Hello, I have been reviewing your website, and I find it fascinating. My youngest sister and I will be visiting San Diego this weekend. We hope to encounter some paranormal activity. We have booked a room at the Hortan Grand Hotel. Can you suggest any places that are definate "must sees". Also, in these places, do you know of any specific rooms that we should visit (example bed rooms, offices. I'm sorry to see that the Ghost and Gravestone trolley tour is no longer around. Any tours that you can recommend? I'm just full of questions today. One last one, do you think that we should visit these locations in the evening? We do not mean any disrespect to the entities. We just hope to make contact. Thank you in advance.
The Horton Grand Hotel is a good start. For the Whaley House I would go first thing in the morning, otherwise it is too crowded. It is a self guided tour and you can stay as long as you like. Tour the rest of Old Town as well. The Stables is a good spot. The Villa Montezuma has a history tour every hour on the hour on Friday, Saturday and Sunday. You are guided out the door at the end of the tour so you will not be there very long. Some docents will talk about the haunted aspects and some will not, just plan on getting some history. It is truly a beautiful Victorian. The Hotel Del Coronado is also a good spot. You might want to approach it from the beach side. This is where Lottie Bernard/Kate Morgan committed suicide. I am doing some research on Lottie Bernard. My last visit to the Del she claimed to not be Kate Morgan and gave me a different story from the famous one we all know. I have already pulled all the newspaper articles from 1892 and the well known story does have holes in it. There is a lot of debate on which room is hers. The Hotel currently says 3327. You can ask at the front desk. I have found the night staff to be very helpful.
I am not hearing good things about the tours that have come in since G & G shut down in San Diego so I have no recommedation there.
