I am unable to embed the video that accompanies this article, so I'll just post the link. The video shows the tsunami wave as it's coming inland and devouring everything in its path. You'll see cars, among other things like trucks and houses, that are either swept away or cannot move out of its path fast enough. My mouth dropped in awe as I watched this. Fortunately, the camera operator filming does not show the moving vehicles with people in them being swept away.

hi Bonnie,

It is raining and foggy here.
Temperature is mild but there were blobs of wet snow interspersed with the rain. Odd...

I just watched the latest video above. No access to EPA updates. No concern there, isn't it? This man is absolutely right to sound the alert.

Thank you for all that you are doing ...

Hug,

Just went on the E.P.A. site and checked and the map is actually working at this time. They must have corrected something to get it back up. Still need to figure out what the numbers indicate...

The radiation certainly spread toward the US. How could it not? And question is for how long will they let it go on spreading. What a mess...:((((((((((((

Dangerous Breach Feared at Japanese Nuke Plant
Setback at Fukushima Nuclear Plant as Japanese Officials Suspect Dangerous Breach

By KEVIN DOLAK
March 25, 2011

A possible breach of the reactor core at Japan's Fukushima nuclear plant could lead to further contamination in what would be a major setback to efforts to bring the post-earthquake crisis under control, Japanese officials said today.

The uncertainty led to work being halted again today at the nuclear complex 150 miles northeast of Tokyo, where dozens of people have been working to cool reactors at the overheating plant.

A somber Prime Minister Naoto Kan today called the situation "grave and serious," adding "we are not in a position to be optimistic."

"We must remain vigilant," Kan said. "We must treat every development with the utmost care.

"We are working closely with local governments and stepping up our monitoring efforts and increasing monitoring [of radiation] and will disclose results promptly. We are committed to transparency," Kan said.

The possible breach was suspected when two workers waded into water 10,000 times more radioactive than normal and suffered skin burns, according to the Nuclear and Industry Safety Agency.

"It is possible there may be damage somewhere in the reactor," spokesman Hidehiko Nishiyama said, adding that the cause of the burns still remains unclear.

Nishiyama said there is no data suggesting there were any cracks, and that a leak in the plumbing or the vents could be the cause.

Meanwhile, the death toll in Japan reached a milestone as NHK broadcasting reported the latest estimates of 10,175 people dead and more than 17,400 still missing since the 9.0-magnitude earthquake and resulting tsunami rattled the country March 11.

The U.S. military is now taking a direct role in attempts to cool reactors at the damaged nuclear plant, according to U.S. and Japanese officials.

As a first step, the U.S. military plans to ship 525,000 gallons of fresh water on two U.S. Navy barges from a U.S. base in Yokosuka, south of Tokyo, according to a spokesman for the U.S. Forces Japan.

Other U.S. support initiatives are also under consideration, the Wall Street Journal reported.

Monumental Work Ahead
Tap water in Tokyo was reported to contain levels of radioactive iodine two times the legal limit for infants earlier this week. A day later it was reported that the tap water was now safe to drink.
The confusion and conflicting reports caused a run on bottled water and a government scheme to distribute bottled water to families with babies.

Hi Bonnie and All,

Thank you for all the updates Bonnie.

I found a site that looks as if it has reliable, up-to-date, information concerning the uranium/nuclear industry and the Japan situation.

http://nuclear-news.net/2011/03/29/

Here is an article that deals with the "Nuclear Goliath: Confronting Industrial Energy." Back in 2009 they were trying to get the word out about nuclear energy not being a clean and reliable candidate to replace the U.S.'s reliance on foreign fossil fuels.

http://nuclear-news.net/?s=Jet+stream

Today we know more and the US Government is still trying to push nuclear fuel. This makes me wonder, "Why?"

Love,

Mar

I've finally caught up with all the videos and information you have provided here, Bonnie. Thank you again. I fear for Japan's future, not just economically but in terms of the overall health of its people and the future state of its environment. The Japanese economy will eventually recover from any set backs as a result of this earthquake/tsunami/nuclear reactor melt down disaster, but the surrounding land areas and the long term health consequences are another matter all together.

I can't even get into the psychological and emotional devastation the people of Japan must be experiencing and will continue to experience for quite some time. I cried while watching some of these videos. This is extremely upsetting.

I'm just catching up with this thread topic, Bonnie, and want to thank you again for staying on top of this topic and keeping us up to date. It's very, very much appreciated. I don't always have the time or the energy to read the updates on the day they're posted, but I'll read them when time and personal energy levels permit. Sometimes, I just can't absorb any more news or information until a later time - especially when it's negative or bad news.

Yet again, thank you! so much for the updates, Bonnie. Still catching up in this thread.

I have to admit that this is overwhelmingly difficult information to process... it is all just so disappointing... beyond any sort of rationalization...

This is from March 29th, but I wanted to share it because this man, Arnie Gundersen, has been getting censored, according to William Wagener, who posted this video on his own YouTube channel. I would follow this man's comments and observations as well as Michiu Kaku's regarding the Fukushima nuclear power plant situation.

As if there wasn't enough going on there already with the events in japan they are still getting hit more very sad.
Also I would like to add this interview by Michio Kaku and David Letterman has a good point when bringing up nuclear power asking how we can get rid of that which I totally agree with there are far safer ways to get power than nuclear.

USGS has it listed as a 7.1

7.1 Mag

Excellent video, Bonnie! Thank you for sharing it! I like and trust this man in terms of his reporting the truth about what's happening at the Fukushima nuclear power plant. He also explains things clearly and with respect to his audience, without talking down to people. It's always interesting to find out that what is being said publicly by officials and corporations is not what is being said privately amongst themselves. I give this man and Michiu Kaku applause and two thumbs up for their reporting and their efforts to explain what is REALLY happening, and what all of this really means. Both men are wonderful in what they do and the ways in which they do it!

Thank you again, Bonnie!

Warmly,
Carmen

Thank you Bonnie, Mike for these latest interview posts from Michio Kaku.

Michio Kaku is mentioning secrecy. It already is a month since the incident and they are still by all appearances fiddling!!! with everything and not taking drastic action.

I am stunned to hear that the Japanese authorities plan to stabilize the plant only by the end of the year:O!!!!

There is obviously still very much the greed mode at play here on the part of the Tokyo Electric and little regard for the surroundings (i.e. people and nature). The entire handling of the situation is truly horrible.

I agree with Dr. Kaku. They need to be removed from the situation. We are one MONTH into this and still they are stomping in place!!!

Interesting that Indian Point reactor gets mentioned here as well. They are just 35 miles north of mid-town NYC. They are running a radio ad campaign in the wake of the accident in Japan and all of the concern of local advocates, and making statements that they are safe and can withstand an earthquake even more powerful than the one in Japan. Lets pray they are telling the truth.

Interesting to hear that "Obama and Co." are pushing for more nuclear plants. Why am I not surprised?

The second part of the interview is definitely more optimistic. Amazing to learn that the prototypes of all that Dr. Kaku describes already exist. But just think of how the internet affected the world in only the last fifteen years. I think we are in for some amazing developments and I agree with him about the importance of intellectual commodities. This is all part of the consciousness awakening I feel.
