This is a segment of the address Michael gave to his crew, and also to the camera ( he was intentionally speaking to the future audiences as well), transcribed from the video of "This Is It" movie:
Michael: "... and we are family. Just know that. We are a family. You have to put love back into the world. To remind the world that LOVE is important. Love is important. To love each other. We are all one. There's a message(*)... Take care of the Planet. We have four years to get it right. Or else it's irreversible damage we've done. So I have an important message to give. Okay. It's important. I thank you for your cooperation. It's important. Thank You. Big Thank You..."
[(*) this was partly inaudible to my ear ...I took my best guesstimate... perhaps someone here can do better to decipher this part]
I am sure this relates to 2012. Please add your thoughts.

Hello Irina, I'm new at posting at this site but I've been here many times :-) I feel very strongly that in that particular segment of THIS IS IT Michael is talking about the destruction of the rain forest. He means that between 2012 and 2016 the rain forest will have been reduced to 10% which will cause irreversible damage to the interconnection of life. Michael makes it so urgent because if we reach this threshold that's a point of no return. I believe he wants us to get involved in whichever way we can. I believe you could have a point as this is what Michael said during the "Earth Song" segment in the movie: "... I repsect the secrets and magic of nature. That' s why it makes me so angry when I see these things that are happening. You know. That every second I hear the size of a football field is torn down in the Amazon. I mean that kind of stuff really bothers me. Thats why I write these kinda songs. You know. Gives some sense of awareness and awakening and hope to people. I love...I love the Planet. I love trees. I have this thing for trees and the colors and changing of leaves. I love it. I respect those kind of things."
There are certainly indicators of things shifting just based on what is happening geophysically of late.

Thank You! Mike. And thank you for the other links. It is difficult to keep up with everything out there and anything that can be brought forward here will be helpful. Do keep posting any information relevant to this issue that you may find credible.
For those who listen to the video please do so attentively as the wording which is super-imposed there is not accurate. Michael does not say "...we're done"; instead he says "...we've done". (Just want to point out the difference in the meaning of what is being said here.)
As I see this message, it is not a prophecy of doom but rather a call to awaken to our SPIRITUAL POTENTIAL and to the realization that WE ARE all a part of ONE consciousness- one with each other and one with our Planet.
I believe this was going to be the main message of Michael's TII concerts.
