I just finished watching this presentation and enjoyed it very much. I had to chuckle at the watch segment; I always wear my watch, and it never occurred to me that time is noted every where, more or less, in this digital age, until this gentleman pointed it out! It's true! I didn't know that many, or most, teenagers today don't bother to wear watches. For me, wearing a watch is as basic as getting dressed.
We do need to do something about our education system. I don't know what the solutions are, but having highly motivated, talented and enthusiastic teachers should be at the top of the list. Having parents of children who care enough to get involved in their children's education is also important, as is having children who are motivated and really want to learn.
Making use of one's talent(s), and having the courage to be true to oneself and possibly go against the grain of society or family to achieve dreams and goals are very important issues. Some people are afraid to use their talents or to develop them - for fear of failure, or fear of the additional responsibility involved in living one's life authentically.
I very much agree with the speaker in this video about the importance of discovering and developing talent, and not shying away from doing some things a bit differently from the norm. And yes, time flies when you're doing something you truly love.
Like the gentleman mentioned who felt the calling at a young age to be a fireman, some people do feel a calling at a young age to go in a certain direction in their lives. They just know.
