This is unbelievable!

The article states:

"The use of propofol, a drug commonly used in hospitals for general anesthesia, is gaining popularity among Koreans as a substitute for other illegal drugs, the Seoul Central District Prosecutors’ Office said yesterday."

"Seoul prosecutors indicted two doctors at plastic surgery clinics yesterday on charges of authorizing the administration of propofol to patients by unqualified personnel, including nurses’ aides. The doctors allegedly received 100,000 to 400,000 won ($86 to $344) for propofol injections for patients, which is usually sold at a price of around 10,000 won per bottle on the regular market."

My jaw dropped when I read this. I am baffled! I thought all governments were monitoring Propofol and this couldn't happen anymore.
Could someone tell me if this is a joke or something?

This is the link to the site:

I am adding this web article I found that is making me feel a bit better.

It States: "Michael Jackson's death is Exhibit A for California lobbyists who are pushing for a law restricting the use of Propofol.
Michael's Law is being pushed by a group of people ... all of whom have lost loved ones to the misuse of Propofol. They've been going door-to-door in L.A. and Santa Barbrara -- handing out leaflets that describe the drug and how it killed MJ."

Here is the website at TMZ: http://www.tmz.com/person/michael-jackson

I did not realize that Propofol was such a wide spread problem. I thought this was somewhat of a isolated case. I hope we cut the red tape and get a law in place fast! I hope other countries can get a low past quickly also.

Is only California doing something about this problem? It seems to me it should be a Federal law, not on a state by state basis.
