I ran across this 2011 Michael Jackson Calendar while surfing the web. I was wondering if this was Sony trying to get more money by selling more MJ merchandise or if the money will go to Michael's family if we decided to buy it.
The back of the calendar has printed www.michaeljackson.com on it as a website and I thought I remember you Bonnie telling me that website was owned by Sony. I could be wrong. Does anyone have any information concerning the Calendar?

I have yet to see the calendar myself but not sure where Akon fits into that?
Since he co-wrote and sings with Michael on their single I don't know that it's fair to say he is collecting money and royalties *from* Michael since that single is partly Akon's work also...
Is he a part of the calendar though? Just wondering...
Of course Michael would never have wanted the rights sold to Sony. John Branca and John McClain are supposed to be the executors of Michael's estate and conduct his estate as Michael would have wanted them to. Not to mention they are to do what is best for "Michael" and his "family." This is just wrong on the Estates part to sell the rights to Sony. Thanks for the info Bonnie. I guess I missed that one.

I have a URL to the Calendar in my post above dated Jan. 1, 2011 if you would like to see it. Akon is not in the Calendar, it is a Calendar of Michael.
Akon co-wrote and sings with Michael but the songs were not ready for release or Michael would have released them.

I feel Akon does not deserve to make Millions of dollars off the album because he would not have sold all those CDs without Michael on the Album. It was the anticipation of Michael's genius that sold the album. Some of the experts are saying that Akon's vocals were dubbed into the songs; For instance, "Hold My Hand." That means Akon's voice was "added" at some point and probably after Michaels death. I agree with will.I.am. It is all about the money and Michael would not of wanted the album released.
Poor Michael exploited for his genius in life and death. Supersize Michael so the bad guys can ride his coat strings!
In my opinion the focus should be on(and therefore decide if something is good for or bad for Michael) how any release would affect Michael’s family. Michael's family is VERY unhappy with this album release. They have a problem with the Albums Authenticity as well as Sony making money off of Michael, especially after his death. The family, especially his children, know their dads work best, and they also have a problem with the Albums Authenticity. To me that means that Sony, Akon, and all the rest of the Michael bloodsuckers are causing Michaels family, especially his children, Pain and anguish.

I got confused with Akon and the calendar - couldn't figure out why he would be in an MJ Calendar! It's been a long and busy holiday season so I'm in and out of the loop right now...and confuse easily!
I posted awhile back my feelings about Akon...and this particular single...and I'm probably coming off as an Akon supporter - which creates a gray area since I am anti-Sony and not too thrilled with the handling of Michael's Estate (based on what I read...)
But this is an open forum for different perspectives and ideas, so I am just sharing mine...
For certain Akon's vocals were not added after Michael's death. This track has been leaked on the internet since 2008. It was known that they were working together and were disheartened that it got out at that time. At one point I read of its inclusion on one of Akon's albums...
I have to agree with you that Michael would not have wanted that album released - but I think that is a different issue than presuming Akon added his vocals in and passed it off as a legitimate duet just to have a song included on a Michael Jackson album for the sole purpose of making money. It is a real song sung by both of them. A song that Michael himself said he was very proud of according to one of his nephews...
I guess it's that...plus the message the single gives is what draws me to it. It's a very 'Michael' thing to sing about and that it makes me feel good would surely put a smile on Michael's face - completed or not...
Okay, you guys can bash me now...I'm sure my thoughts are not of popular opinion - at least not when it comes to this single. It's hard to separate fact from fiction. I'm trying hard to do that myself. Am I comfortable listening to Hold My Hand? Yes. Does it make me happy to hear Michael singing with Akon of something as uniting as holding hands? Absolutely. Do I think Michael appreciates that? I like to think so...
The album as a whole was a bad idea from the start - and I personally have no use for much of what is on it. Except for this single...it pulls at my heartstrings...which may very well have been Michael's intent for it all along...
