Today August 5th, 2012 is the 50th anniversary of the death or perhaps murder of Marilyn Monroe.

According to the funeral directors, Marilyn died sometime between 9:30pm and 11:30pm PT. Her maid Mrs. Murray unable to raise her but seeing a light under her locked door, called the police shortly after midnight. She also phoned Ralph Greenson who, on arrival, could not break down the bedroom door. He eventually broke in through French windows and found Marilyn dead in bed. The corner stated she had died from acute barbiturate poisoning.

August 25th 2009 I met Marilyn in a cabana room at the Hollywood Roosevelt Hotel.  She seemed very happy to talk with us, mentioned the dark people who still do deals at the hotel today and provided a warning to those thinking about getting involved with the entertainment industry.  It was not until later research that I discovered that she was well known for her quotes.  Her warning:  It is ok to let them pretty up your hair but don’t let the redecorate your soul.  Here is a clip from the Travel Channel.
